Christmas is a time for kindness and care, and this year, PTG – Perfect Temperature Group – continues the tradition of supporting the Salvation Army’s Christmas campaign, “Hope in a Kettle”. This initiative, with roots dating back to 1901, makes a meaningful difference for people in communities across Norway – including many where we ourselves are based.

A historic Christmas tradition
The first Christmas kettle was introduced by the Salvation Army in Norway in 1901, inspired by an American tradition that began a few years earlier. The idea was simple yet powerful: to raise funds to help people with food, clothing, and other essentials. Since then, the Christmas Kettle has become a symbol of hope and compassion, helping thousands each year.
For over 120 years, the Christmas Kettle has reminded us of the importance of helping one another – not just during the festive season, but throughout the year. Today, these kettles can be found at more than 220 locations across Norway, with donations going towards providing warm clothing, food, electricity, and other necessities to families and individuals in need.
Our contribution to the Christmas Kettle
PTG proudly supports the Salvation Army’s work. They are present in many of the same local communities as PTG, and we are especially pleased to support an organization that makes a difference where our customers, partners, and employees live and work.
Through the campaign “Hope in a Kettle” we aim to help more people enjoy a better Christmas while inspiring others to join in.
To illustrate our commitment, we’ve created an animation featuring service vehicles from the various companies in the PTG family — a symbolic “train” of contributions heading to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle. This represents our desire to give back to the communities we are a part of and our support for the Salvation Army’s impactful efforts.

Support for Matsentralen Nord-Norge
In addition to the Christmas Kettle, we also support Matsentralen Nord-Norge, which works to distribute surplus food to those facing challenging circumstances. We believe that small contributions – to both the Christmas Kettle and Matsentralen – can make a big difference for those who need it most.
